5 March 2007 Funding Following a period of over 2 months, Barclays Bank Plc has failed to provide the funding that had been agreed in principle in July 2006. The outcome of this has led to delays in game production which now has to be funded through organic growth. Other lenders and investors are currently being approached to back the game production business plan.
26 January 2007 Graphics Engine Release The game production version of the ViVV 3D graphics engine has now been released and is available for royalty free licensing.
1 December 2006 Development Update Development has been sidelined into optimisation, but the results have been worthwhile and mean that the graphics technology and models can take more advantage of the latest hardware accelerated features. The additional modelling and development puts back the XBox 360 graphics technology and game completion by around 4 months.
1 December 2006 Development Update Recent breakthroughs in graphics technology optimisation techniques have given an increase in performance of over 74%. With the original bench test set now pounding through at 82fps using a GeForce FX Go5200, higher definition models and sets have begun to be put in place and are looking stunning!
11 July 2006 Xbox Development Account Approval Microsoft approve the request for an Xbox 360 development account.
3 July 2006 Funding Approval In Principle Barclays Bank Plc agree in principle to provide sufficient funding, through a business loan, to ensure completion of the game and the associated technologies and become the company’s business bankers.
16 June 2006 Company Formation The decision is made to take the game and the associated technologies through to completion. The company, ViVV Ltd is formed. The name is based upon the word origins of ‘an imagined future in living glass’.
31 May 2006 Risk Assessment The end of the initial 2 year development phase. This has been to prove technology and ideas and to decide whether or not to take the games ideas and the associated technologies through to completion. At this point, a lot of the fundamental graphics technology is in place with models and initial sets providing a demonstrable first person walk-through. |
